hey fellow aziners, i have a quick question about amps for my subs
i have 2 x12" alpine type R's that run at 500 watts rms each, i dont know much of anything about amplifiers but i figure i would need an amplifier that runs at 1000 watt rms to power them... am I completely off or is this correct?

also any suggestions on good amps that wont leave me brook would be greatly appreciated

 

What voice coils do you have on your Type Rs? What ohms are they? Are they single or dual voice coil?

Yes, you are right about 1000w rms, but you need to figure out what resistance you want that 1000w to be at. You need the amp to match your subs.
