I have looked around and placed several orders for an Alpine MRP-M500 and an Alpine Type R, but most places after calling up to find out why my order hasn't been shipped they reply saying "both the amp and subwoofer are on backorder and would be another 2-3 weeks due to them being somewhat outdated." I was unaware of this and am now afraid I may be trying to buy outdated equipment. Should I be worrying? If so, what would be the newer version of these two?

 

Crutchfield has the amp for $179.00 and the SWR-1242D sub for $199. Both are in stock. Not sure what sub you were looking for so I guessed at a 12".
