Alarm Upgrade... Anyone ??

So has anyone upgrade their alarm system. I did, basically I have the original alarm with motion sensor installed so when you tap the glass on any of the windows my car makes a nice beeping noise which is actually the horn beeping a few times. I think its great and just wondering if anyone else did it. I paid 220.00 for it which is pretty damn good price in my opinion.

Would you please share the name of the alarm, model, whether it's integrated with the original FOB, or you ended up with 2 remotes?

My alsrm

I put on a Clifford Intelliguard 8000. It has a proximity alarm with lojak and also it has a code device which you have to enter to be able to drive the car. The whole thing with installation was about $300. I like its a good alarm. I also got the option of putting power windows to control the windows up and down.

They still have that system for Clifford this is what I had put in my 2000TL when it was new back in 1999.
The system still works well in the car with the BlackJax anticarjacking self recovery sub system. You get use to entering the code every time you or anyone else exits or enters the car.

got mine with a factory upgrade "X1" / comes with a 3 year garranty, if my car should happen to get stolen within that time frame and declared a total loss Acura will replace with a brand new what ever the year may be TL (up to 2007) without a new contract well i just finish payments on my old TL.
I'm sure there are a lot of if's and but's in the garranty but sounded good so i took it.

I have installed an additional alarm, Hornet 700T, tied in to the factory system. Still uses the same remotes. It was the best $120 i've spent on the car. I still have the factory alarm with horn and lights but now I also have a shock sensor and another sounding alarm as well.

If I am understanding you, you have the factory installed alarm, but with motion sensor. Did you do this through the dealership or third party?

I want to get the same alarm. Does the car still have the wimpy little beep from the stock alarm or does it have a louder chirp now? How difficult was the install? Was it $120 with or without labor? Thanks for the help.

Lovepo9e where did you get your Hornet alarm installed? I am thinking of getting one too out here in the bay area too and one place quoted me $250 for it. Is the alarm any good? Are you still able to utilize the memory settings off the remote and the window roll down features?

how are these alarms able to integrate into the original key fob? has anyone wired an air horn to the alarm? that works wonders.
