Aftermarket sub+amp troubleshoot

So I recently installed a Boss R1100M amp with a Pioneer TS-SWX310 12" subwoofer in my '06 TL. I took out the back seats and rear deck, ran the 12V to the battery and the controller to the ACC fuse in the fusebox. Connected the ground to the bolt in the back of the trunk by the passthrough. I used a line output converter to tap the signal from the old subwoofer, which I removed. No problem. Except now I can't get the amp to turn on. There is definitely power coming from the 12V because the LOC is on, but after about 5-10 minutes of operation the amp shut off. I disconnected the control wire that ran to the LOC and just ran it to the amp and it turned on for a little and then shut off. Now I can't get it to turn on at all. I've clipped and rewired everything on the amp end of the car, disconnected the controller entirely, nothing. The fuse is not blown either. Anyone have any ideas?

Check the ground. Make sure you have a great ground placement, not good, great! What bolt are you using? Using a wiring brush to get paint off really helps

I wouldnt trust BOSS brand anything, but try jumping the 12v to the remote to test it. Sometimes the poor remote 12v shuts off the amp.Check the ACC cable that enables the amp to turn on also.Keep us updated.

asides from the amp might being shitty, i had a similar problem but it was weird because when i popped off the batttery cover off, everything worked fine, check your power connections from the battery to inline fuse because that could be a problem ... the battery cover was fucking with the power cable...

Ahhhhh found it. On first inspection, the inline fuse was blown. On a suggestion from the local audio shop, I took apart the fuse enclosure and found that the solder that connects the metal in the fuse to the end caps had burnt out. Popped in another fuse, good to go.

I knew that it wasn't the amp because I had tried to swap a brand new amp and sub in and had the same problem.

Thanks guys!
