Aftermarket Sub & Amp Question - Easy for you guys

I have a pretty basic question I am hoping to get a straight answer to. Yes I have searched and read and searched for days on here and I am frankly just in information overload...I don't know enough about the subject to make sense of the posts and get my specific questions answered, so here goes.

I have an 05 TL non-nav. I listen to a VARIETY of music. Rap, Country, Rock, Blues, Punk, Alt, Metal...all of it. I LOVE BASS. The stock sub sounds like sh*t. Flat out. So, I want to KEEP the head unit stock. I want to replace the subwooofer for sure and possibly the speakers. Can someone please list for me what kind of speakers to get, what kind of sub to get and what amp to get. Example (Doesn't have to be Kenwood either):

Door Speakers: Kenwood XXX, size XXX in X Ohms or whatever
Rear Speakers: Kenwood XXX, size XXX in X Ohms or whatever
Sub: Kenwood XXX, size XXX in X Ohms or whatever
Amp: Whatever watts, do I need a cross over (What is a LOC) etc.

The plan is I then take said list, price out these items, buy them and install (or have them installed at a local shop). I just know nothing about stereo systems since the late 90's so I am definitely OUT of the game and just want some straight forward set up advice on what specifically to buy. I want this system to thump and sound amazing no matter what type of music I have playing. Can you please help me out? Thanks in advance.

Most important question is what is your budget? Also, are you looking at adding amps or using the (weak) stock amp?

^ this. You're budget needs to be known for us to help ya. Definitely don't use the stock amp..it's noisy and weak as hell lol

Installation of the subs will be straight forward, but the doors and wiring might be a little much if you didn't want to work for a few days.

The TL isn't a cheap car to Mod.
You're probably looking at $500-600 for worthwhile changes with fronts, amp, sub and install bits.

I understand it won't necessarily be cheap, however I don't want to pay 500 dollars for X when I can get Y for 400 - I am just saying I will compare prices from different vendors to get the best deal. Basically the volume just doesn't go loud enough in the car and the stock sub sounds like crap. I want to do something about both of those issues. What can I do and if you would be so kind, what size speakers, amps, other equip. do I need to make this happen?
