Question Aftermarket mids and highs

Im going to go ahead and apologize if this is a repost but i searched and couldnt find the answers i was looking for. I am interested in upgrading my stock mids and highs because i woud like a little it louder/clearer at high volumes.
-First question would i be able to just change my speakers w/o upgrading the factory amp and get better sound. ( I know it would sound better with one but right now funds are low and will do it down the road).
-Second question/opinion what speakers do you guys believe is the best bang for your buck. I had kickers with 700watt amp in my RSX but wasnt too impressed, especially for what i paid for them.
Any answers are greatly appreciated.
Thanx
Brian

probably the only speakers i would put in my car are JL Audio ones...i had two 12" subs by them and they shook items in people's aparments on the second floor half a block away from me...and were only turned up half way...new ones might be a lil pricey for what you're looking for, but you may be able to find a slightly used pair...rockford fosgate, kicker, sony xplod, alpine, pioneer, etc. won't come close to the sound of these...for an amp, go with memphis belle...nothing will come close to its quality...

I had two W6's in my RSX and they were really loud and also had a 1500 watt memphis. But im not looking to add bass as of right now just trying to get the mids and highs to sound nice. I hate drining on the highway with my windows down and can hardly hear the damn music.

Could always do the infinity Kappas, they are 2 ohm and should drop right in. Some say they are not the best, but the ones I have heard were quite good for the street price.
