aftermarket amp
aftermarket amp
i did a search and found nothing
To be honest, I'm not impressed with the sound system in my 05 tl
the sub could pound harder and the speakers can do better..
Are the speakers running full power with the stock amp? what type of differences would i see with an aftermarket amp?

well, good luck with this project. feasable, but fun..
the stock AMP is 5.1... so you would need like a new 6 channel amp installed in the kick panel, or run 6 sets or RCAs to the trunk to another amp and back to the interior speakers..
best bet, to keep things affordable...just splice the factory sub wire, install an aftermarket amp and a new sub... and adjust your audio settings.. my

Personally I wouldn't bother with an aftermarket amp unless I was going to change the speakers as well...you will get limited return on your investment.
You could get an amp that would drive your 2 main channels, and upgrade those speakers, and another amp (or multi-channel amp to do them all) to push an aftermarket sub. You could then still use your oem amp to run the center channel and surround speakers for when you play multi-channel material.
If you've got a big budget, then you could replace all speakers and add amplifiers accordingly.
There are all kinds of systems that have been installed on this forum from mild to wild. Just figure out how much you want to spend, and build it accordingly (also considering whether you're looking for SQ or SPL).
