Address Not Found (07 TL)

So, I just updated to the new 4.92 version of the Navi. I was hoping it would fix a problem with my 2007 disc, but it didn't.

When Im at my house, and hit the "current location" button. It shows my address. Lets say its:

3000 N 144th Ave, Omaha, NE 68116

But, when I do an address search, for Omaha, I put in 144 as street, and select 144th Ave. When it gets to the street number, everything is Greyed out except "1", so entering 3000 is impossible.

How can it have the address stored, but I can't find it by searching? Ive tried to find "North 144th Ave" or "N 144th Ave" , but nothing else is available.

Any suggestions to try?

1) The Navi will show the name of the street you are driving on-- does that say "North 144th," "N. 144th" or what? I would then enter that street name into the Navi to see if it will pull up the proper street number.

2) Did you try selecting the "1" to see if additional numbers follow? Was

3) How old is the street/neighborhood? If it was less than two years old, the Navi may not have the street names or new addresses added to an existing street.

4) The Navi may not have the proper street name if a street was re-named/had a prior name, too.
I assume that N. 144th wasn't changed to "John Doe Street," or something along those lines.

It says "N 144th Ave"
I have tried just that, put in "N" and it just comes up with "N street". Should I try "N 144"? I never thought of putting the space in there.

Yes, if you push the 1, it only lets you go on to put in "153" or something starting with a 1.

The neighborhood is 20 years old, and I do not think anything has been renamed. since it was built.

No good suggestions, but I feel your pain. The navi in my 2004 is a turd, even with the new disc. I cover a 3600 square mile territory in real estate and I carry a nuvi for when I really need to know where I am going, or where something is.

I am tired of the navi not finding a taco bell because I pushed restaurants instead of eating places... or displaying taco bell headquarters as the first on the list even though it is 1250 miles away.

I tried "N 144", but could not enter the space after N.

1) Set the Navi location to your state (NE) if you have not done so.

2) Whenever entering a street address, start with the street name-- the Navi will have you select the direction (North, West, etc.) on a later screen. In your case, enter "144" and the next screen should have you choose St., Ave., Way, etc.
The screen afterward will then list the cities in NE containing that road name.
The Navi should then have you enter the address number after choosing the city.
If a number exists on both streets (West 1st and East 1st, for example), the Navi should ask you to choose the proper address to calculate the route.

3) If that doesn't work, push the Navi joystick down, without moving the arrow/cursor, when your car is at home to show your current location and see what address comes up.

Thanks for the tips.
When I am at home, and push the joystick down, it displays my address correctly.
I think the process you speak of in step 2 is for the Orange disc. I have White.
My process goes:
Address > Select State (NE) > Select City (Omaha) > Enter Street Name (144) > Pick street from list (144th AVE (no direction listed) > Then enter street number (This is where it limits to start the number with "1", so I can not enter 3000)

Maybe its just messed up in the database, and there is no way to find it.

I think that the database is fine if your address displayed correctly when pushing the joystick down; the only problem is figuring out why the address won't come up when entering it.

Try storing that address as a User or Home address, then set as the Navi destination when you're away from home one day to see if the Navi will set a route to your home.

G/L.

Software functions unchanged. Database & POE updates only.
