Adding Bluetooth with the Crux BTS-HN2

Hello, I have a 2004 Acura TL (non-navi). I want to add an exterior audio source (such as aux or bluetooth). I have chosen bluetooth, because as the 3.5mm plug is being phased out of phones, it will be phased out of my hand eventually. My reasearch tells me:

1. I can add and Aux input and then buy a bluetooth receiver ~$50, multiple items, etc
2. Get a USA Spec BT45-HON3. ~$140.

or

3 Get a Crux BTS-HN2. ~$65

The one thing I think will give me everything I want is the Crux BTS-HN2. It appears to plug into a white 14-pin port on the back of the radio (Not sure if its for the XM or the CD changer). It appears to give me a USB port, AUX cable AND Bluetooth connectivity that will work will the radio controls. It appears to do the everything and more, for half the cost. It even says it is compatible with the 2004-2009 Acura TL's, but then it says not compatible with HFL vehicles. the HFL on my car doesn't work, nor to a plan on fixing it, and this seems like it would solve the problem.

Surprisingly enough, searching CRUX on here only yields threads about rims. Has anyone used this? Can anyone confirm that this works on this car?

I would go with bt45hon. Great Bluetooth integration. Or, try crux and tell us what happens

Where are you seeing this? I put in 2004 Acura TL with factory radio (non-nav) and it is saying it works.

Sorry, fat fingers. I just went back and checked again. I hit the wrong year. I apologize.

Ok, so to update this thread. I bought and installed this. I installed through the connector on the driver side and eliminated XM radio.

This unit give me the ability to play AUX, USB Drive or it defaults to Bluetooth. There is no data transmitted to the screen. The factory next/previous buttons only work for USB mode (still no data shown). The cable was too short to place in the center console, so I took out the passenger kick-panel and glove-box and put it in there. The unit comes with a magnetic vent thing so you can place it in the vent and have easy control of your phone.

I’m glad it worked it for you. I personally prefer bt45 to have meta data displayed and next/previous steering wheel controls.
