Hi, I just purchased a 2004 tl, and the only problem is I could not find a used one with the interior and exterior colors that I wanted with a navigation system. In my last car I just added in an flip up screen pioneer, I was wondering if any one has this with this car, as the screen for the blue tooth etc is where navigation would be, and I am getting myself very stressed out about where they could add a nav system in this car, as I need one, the portable ones lose signals etc, I want an installed one thanks!

 

I have the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 in my wife's Aviator. As far as Navigation goes, it's better than the factory TL. As far as voice recognition goes, it's not as good. It's ok...but no where near as seamless as the factory TL. It also has a bunch of add ons you can buy that really make it nice. I use Bluetooth and XM with NavTraffic. I miss the NavTraffic so much in the TL, I have considered replacing the factory head unit with the Z1...but the way this car is engineered with the factory Nav, I don't know if that's possible. Regardless, the Z1 is a double din unit and the nav is hdd driven and all contained in the head unit. Go to Pioneer's website and check it out.
