acura ipod solution

http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=287

am i reading something wrong...but this sounds right to me....check the website it says it works with the acura tl with or without navigation

Category: Accessories
CD Changers
Precision Interface

Description: Honda has changed their radio protocols and plugs once again, and to keep up with this fast changing industry PIE has introduced the HON03/PC-SON. This interface allows you to connect and control a Sony CD Changer to the all vehicles listed in our "Order Option" drop-down list above. If NOT installing a Sony Changer the HON03/PC-SON can be used as an auxiliary input. As an auxiliary input you can connect a single audio device such as an [ iPod, DVD, Satellite Radio Tuners, VCR, X-BOX, Playstation etc] without using an FM Modulator (which degrades the Sound-Q).
Compatibility & Notes: ( please read before purchasing this part )
1. Compatible with †Navigation and NON-NAVIGATION radios with or without the 6 disc in-dash Changer and will also work with the factory MP3 player.
2. Vehicles with NAVIGATION must purchase a special navigation harness.
3. Vehicles equipped with factory XM must disconnect the XM to use this interface
4. One end of the supplied cable plugs it into the 14-Pin CD Changer connector on the rear of the OEM (factory) radio and the other into the interface-- [see our installation diagram here ! and elarge connection connectors ]
5. The HON03/PC-SON interface can do one of the two applications--- as a CD Changer interface or as an Auxiliary input but not simultaneously.
6. If connecting an auxiliary device with a headphone jack, you will need this adapter cable.
7. A Honda/Acura auxiliary input tutorial is available here!

sounds right but:

"3. Vehicles equipped with factory XM must disconnect the XM to use this interface"

kills it.

The issue here is retentaining the XM while having an input for Ipod. It is a known fact XM uses the aux input and item 3 states to disconnect XM to use this interface. I think people still want to keep XM and have an Ipod connection. The interface is great if you don't use the service, but what happens should you decide to in the future?

This looks interesting for us Canadians though! No XM, so no problem!!

Autotoys sent me email a couple days ago telling me the new generation AUX adapter is ready which supports 2004-05 TL. They are going to be sending me one eventually... so I'll keep you guys posted as to how well it works.

I already have an AUX adapter in my car -- a Blitzsafe from Autotoys. But it needed some special modification to make it work. Supposedly the new version of the adapter doesn't require the modification which would be awesome cuz it's a bit of a pain...
