Ok. Here is my little guide for upgrading to 4.63 from a new 2009 TSX.

My wife and I bought two cars, a Black 2008 TL S-TYPE A-Spec for me. And a Carbon Blue 2009 TSX for her.

I noticed that the 2009 TSX had a 4.63 DVD in it. So, I decided to give it a try.

I downloaded the free Imgburn application and made an image of the TSX 4.63 disc. Then went to Walmart and got the Memorex DL-DVDR.

I used all the default settings on Imgburn when I burned it at 2.4X speed (that was the default for my dvd writer).

After the 7 Gig burn, I popped it in the TL and everything works great. It even auto-updated the system.

 

is there anything different between 4.62 and 4.63? Is it worth upgrading? Does it look better?

 

I'm willing to bet that there are NO significant updates between the two, except for POI's. But, I'm not sure. I'm curious to see what the OP says about it!

I am going to downgrade my TL to 4.62 today to test the difference. I have only had the TL for a month and haven't drove it much. I have an BMW X5 lease I am turning in very soon.

I'm not sure. I don't remember the word traffic on the zoom bar in 4.62. I will write all the version info down and see if I can find anything that is different.

One of the things I would like to work is MP3 music from the PC-CARD. It recognizes the PC-CARD in the maint menu with directories. Just doesn't play it.

 

It looks like the only upgrade is coverage area.

It adds a button in the Map/Guide/Menu/Cancel Maintenance area called coverage area. And that allows you to change it to Hawaii.

is that from inside the tl or the tsx? have you tried all those functions such as car status and tire monitor, do they work?

 

My 08 TL came with 4.63.
