2008 TL & Blackberry Curve 8330 Bluetooth

I just got a new Blackberry Curve 8330 from Verizon Wireless. I've been playing with the settings and trying to import the phonebook into the Navigation device. I was successful!

All you have to do is disable encryption in the Bluetooth Device Properties setting of the phone. Select Import Cellular Phonebook from your Nav screen and it works.

Does anyone know how to make changes to the addressbook once it is imported? I could not find any info in the User's Manual.

I also have the 8330 Curve from Verizon and was unable to import in the HFL. I disabled the encryption in the properties menu and I also enabled the phonebook transfer on the Blackberry but still was unable to import. Any other suggestions?

I'm still trying to understand why people choose Verizon for Blackberry services.

I have the 8820 with AT&T and it works flawless in the TL. The HFL has to find your phone first, not the other way around.

So set Blackberry to searchable/discovery, and do the actual pairing initiated from the HFL. It should work.

It's a company phone so no choice in service provider, but it's free so I can't complain too much.

I tried 3x to have the HFL find the phone but was unable to pair. The only way I could establish a connection was to have the Blackberry "find" the HFL. that might be the issue. I'll give it another shot. Thanks for help.

So how do you gyus make the HFL find the phone. I have 8830 from T-mobile and I can't have that work for me.

Ok, I don't know how it works on the curve, but on my 8820, After pairing, go into properties under the Hands Free Link under Bluetooth Options on the phone, and there is an option for ADDRESS BOOK TRANSFER, set it to all.

And set phone to discoverable...then use the HFL to connect to you. (your phone has to be paired already) It took me a few tries and it finally worked.

I have a BlackBerry 8310 curve and only have been having one issue, wondering if you guys can help if it is a setting I am missing?

When I call out of the phones directory it dials, no ring his heard in the ear piece, or sound until the person answers. Then I have to manually go on the phone menu and choose "activate handsfree" to hear the other party on the car speakers. Is there anyway it can automatically be on handsfree with car after I dial from the phone's phonebook?

This sort of defeats the hands free since after I dial the number I have to exit the screen, go into phone options and activate the hfl from the phone to get the person on the car speakers.

If I call off the couple numbers I programed into the TL (non-navi) with the voice recognition or an incoming call the other end automatically comes through the car speakers, I don't have to manually activate handsfree through the phone.
