2007 Acura TL Navigation System

Is the Acura Navigation System in the 2007 Acura TL the same as the one in the 2007 Acura MDX in terms of version, resolution, features, etc.?

The Acura Navigation System in the 2007 Acura MDX doesn't have the audio menus? Is the Acura Navigation System in the 2007 Acura TL the most current version?

yup so far to my knowledge, the RL might come in but it has that joystick knob thingy. I thing the TL and TSX are the only touchscreens left in the acura lineup. MDX has controls for the audio on a seperate screen.

The 07 TL has touchscreen AND the joystick. I think csmeance is correct.

Works fantastic here. I wouldn't be without it.

07 Navi button sensitivity issues

Anybody notice that the navi touch screen buttons seem a little off?

My 06 navi was accurate and sensitive to exactly where I touched. On my 07 I have to "press" the button multiple times or touch the button in different places to activate it. I may be going to the dealer to have this looked at.

The 07 MDX nav screen DOES have audio menus. It does not have touch screen. I hated that at first...but it's easy to get used to. One, the joy stick is very easy to use once you get used to it. And the best part...the voice commands are greatly enhanced. You can do just about anything with VR. The hard part is learning them all.

I've noticed the same thing on my '07 as well. It's quite annoying, especially when an adjacent button gets selected when I know I didn't hit that button.

Yep ~ those are my exact problems too. I wonder if the fix is a simple recalibration of the screen or if the new navi head unit has a problem?

I had noticed the same thing, i thought it was just me, but everyone else seems to be having same issue. Specially when pressing info (food, schools etc). I alwarys miss the button on the first try since its not 'on top'

The first few times I just figured I had mis-poked. Like many others here, mine is off. I have found that aiming slightly above the one I'm aiming for usually does it.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll do a search and see if I can find the key sequence; I'd love to try and recalibrate my screen and see if that clears up my problem.

TO FIX TOUCH SCREEN:
push MAP/GUIDE, MENU and CANCEL for 5 seconds together at the map screen
There should be an option for MONITOR CHECK
Then use the TOUCH PANEL CHECK OPTION FIRST
see if it works properly
then use the TOUCH PANEL CALIBRATION option to calibrate it to you fingers.

My new 07 is off as well. Only on one column of letters. It's when I hit "S" in the middle, the "T" registers and whatever letters are above and below the "S". The dealer is checking it out tomorrow when they install wheel locks, mats, trunk tray. If that doesn't work, I'll try above myself.

Dealer didn't fix it. Maybe to the girl who tried (small fingers), but same issue on the "S" column.

What is the difference in "TouchPanel Check" option and "TouchPanel Calibration". The screen that she had left on when I got my car back was a bunch of small square boxes. I think it was the "Check" screen, but that wouldn't change anything. I would assume I need the Calibration option. If so, what does that involve? Is it like PDA's where you touch certain crosshairs on the screen?

ok... Calibrate option to "Calibrate", Check option to "check". After you calibrate it, check it so that you know the touch screen works properly.

Play around with the calibration by pressing and holding one of the 4 squares on the screen and moving the joystick... you'll figure it out.

OK, this is weird. I did touchpanel check (and used a pen tip) and all tiny square were recognized, but on address or store name entry pushing "S" in middle would bring up "T" (on right of "S") just like before.

Went to Touchscreen calibration. Saw (4) square with "+" next to each. Pushed square, it lit up, tried to move joystick and nothing happened. So I pushed joystick in while holding finger on square for each square. (Screen said "Push map guide to reset parameter. Push Joystick to set it). Pushed "Return". Went to TouchPanel check and now, with pen tip, every thing I push registers the tiny square to the left of what I push.

Weirdest part is I am no longer having the problem inputting address or store name. If I press "S" is brings up "S". Did if fix it and screw something else up by accident since "TouchPanel Check" is off now?

I just don't understand what the "+" vs. "blank boxes" are for. If I knew if I should be pressing the + or the blank box and the purpose, it would make more sense to me.

The "blank boxes" are for testing to make sure the calibration is set.

Once you have determined that your calibration is off, use the TOUCH PANEL CALIBRATION option to calibrate it to you fingers

You mean pressing blank box should light it up? I did that the first try and they all lit up, but pressing "S" from keyboard in the middle was registering "T".

So I pressed the right side of screen "+" and moved joystick to the left 2 clicks. set it and it works better. But I don't know why that worked better. Almost like I was adjusting the touchscreen left some. hmmmm.
