2006 navigation screen is black, but back light is on

i searched this forum but couldnt find anything that fit my exact probelm

the screen turns on but doesnt display anything. radio worked until i tried to fix the navigation screen

i checked the fuses 7 & 32 and they are fine

i pulled the battery for 10 minutes. it reset everything and locked me out of radio.

so now im navigation-less and radio-less

suggestions?

you can put your radio code in and get your radio back on, but your navigation drive is prolly shot, mine is the same way i still need to get mine fixed.

i cant put the code in because my screen is black.

I'm having a similar issue, my radio screen would not display. I was fine with it since I pretty much use the old cassette connected to my phone and stream music etc.. I had to change battery, I have the code but can't enter it. I will check fuse 7 and 32. I checked interior fuse 5 for radio and it was fine.

Your nav code and radio code are two different codes. The radio code is entered by using your radio preset buttons and is displayed in the upper window on the dash-where temp, time, radio mode and station are displayed. Your screen is not involved.

Thanks man!!!! I finally have my radio back. Now if I could get my nav screen back I'd be all set

Glad that helped you out. One thing to check that I was not aware of-the rocker switch in the console on the front wall of the front cup holder turns the screen on and off. If not aware of this it it easy to bump it w/o knowing.

i looked for this rocker, but could not find it. Are you able to take a picture what youre talking about?

I am having this exact same problem. My car will start, the navi screen will display the numbers to enter the code but I cant press the screen to enter anything. And then the screen goes to black. Any suggestions?
