2005 TL finally getting sound system installed.

after about two years owning a tl ( i love it ) and about a garage full of audio that's not installed im getting my sound system done. heres what i got

alpine front type r components, going to buy type s rear,
alpine mrp f600 4ch and mrp 1000 mono
planning on Husein one mtx ported 400 watt sub
and a rockford 3sixty.1 signal processor

....
im trying to read up on some previous threads of diy so i can make sure my installer is doing a good job.

does any one have any suggestions? i really hate ground noise. should i purchase any better equipment ? should i matt the rear shelf ? is there any problems i might run into that there is a quick fix for ?

Please help guys i love this fourm and i love my tl you guys rock as always !

Shawn

First, make sure your installer takes the pre-amp signal. It's cleaner and he'll only need to use the FR and FL. Your equipment is okay and should sound better than stock, but there's always going to be "better stuff" to buy. Audio is subjective if you're not competing, so just enjoy it. If you like it..that's all that matters.

I would definitely do some sound deadening on the doors and rear shelf while you have the car apart. It's not that expensive at all and isn't hard to do. Look into Sound Deadener Showdown CLD tiles or Second Skin Damplifier

Why only use the front channels? Won't this eliminate the use of the fader option?

I'm using the FL/FR pre-amp and I still have the fade/balance. Granted I have mine faded all the way to the front as I don't use the rears, but I'd assume it'd work just fine.

Lol thanks. I'm hoping others can chime in if I'm wrong or right..just to make sure. Also, that's a TON of cash for the install..but if you don't want to tackle it I guess that's all you can do. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
