2005 MDX Navi

Hey Guys,
I have a 2005 MDX. A good friend of mine just purchased a 2010 Honda Pilot. I tried his DVD in my car. It loaded for a while, the downloading message came up, but then I got a disk read error. Is there something i need to do to make it work?
Thanks in advance.

John

Hello, John.

You have to purchase the navi dvd that is specifically made for your model years. There are different colored navi dvd's, and you have to use the updated versions which are the same color as the one your car came with.

i believe the mdx has the same navi as the 1st gen RL... the 2010 pilot's navi is going to be way more advanced than the 05 mdx so the software is not going to be compatible with each system
