Just purchased an 04 TL w 60k on it. I want to know Is there anyone who could tell me how to update the Navi in my 04 to show the current landmarks??? Walmarts, Resturaunts etc. When I searched for a Walmart in Places by closet drivetime it want to send me to Utah! Yet there were 3 within a 15 mile radious of where I was. (I did the search just to familiarize myself) is there a setting for it to use a default area? ...any other time the car seems to know my location, don't see y this is happening. These Walmarts were there prior to 04. Is there an update method, a particular search method I should use to find more local options or am I stuck with the outdated locations list?????

 

You have to purchase and install the latest DVD update, especially if your car still has the original DVD that came with it.

To look for chain stores, it's best to search by "Places," "Category," "Shopping," then enter the WalMart name before selecting "search by distance."

Same concept with restaurants, and other category searches. The search by Name category works best with uniquely-named businesses that do not have many locations.

The older the Navi DVD, the more errors-- coding, misspellings, changed locations, etc.-- than updated discs. The original discs that came with the 2005 were in 3.40 version, BTW.
