Anybody seen the new USB port for the 09 RL that gives you full control of the ipod, anybody think we will be able to put this into our TL, maybe the dealership would install, maybe the firmware on the Navi will need an upgrade. Right now I am running my ipod through the Kensington LiquidAUX and its ok but its not like the full ipod integration that I had in my Impala

To answer your question, no, it is not possible to retrofit this into the TL. The audio processing is done by the head-unit itself, not through the navigation system. The navigation system simply controls and displays the information. If you have an 07+ TL, you have an AUX jack in the lower compartment of your two center storage bins. If not, you can buy a hardwire aux into the radio like the USA-SPEC which also controls the IPOD, the DICE Unit which allows ipod text, but at the cost of XM, or the new Prepherial unit which allows IPOD control and text, XM control and text, 2 aux inputs and as well HD radio input. The few that have gotten it reported minimal problems. I suggest you search for AUX inputs and read the audio FAQ at the top of the section.

 

Like I said I got the kensington LiquidAUX through the AUX port, but complete ipod integration OEM woud have been nice
