'08 TL-S Rear camera Mod Possible?

Has anyone ever considered or completed this mod. wiring in a switch to the Rear view camera so you can turn it on while driving? i think this would be an excellent mod and quite functional when hauling a$$ down the highway weaving traffic. if anyone has supply me with some information on how to do it. thanks!

take out " the Rear view camera so you can turn it on while driving? i think this would be an excellent mod and quite functional when hauling a$$ down the highway weaving traffic." this sentence please.

Anyway you could wire in a switch that would trick the rear camera system to think its in reverse.

Yes it possible and has been done by me and others on here. You'll need to wire a 12v power source on a switch along with a diode to the reverse signal wire going to the DVD drive in the trunk. The loom you'll have to tap into is in the passenger side kick panel below the factory amp.

BTW, don't haul ass on the highway while weaving through traffic, and looking at the back-up cam on the navi screen........recipe for disaster.

true enthusiast? does not mean drive you car like a dumb teenager with a integra lol

Giving you the rear view might make you feel like you in Gran Turismo 5 and make you feel cool...but politely put, dumb reasoning

to be quite honest the car sees gingerman raceway about every other weekend so yes i am a true enthusiast. and no i am far from being a teenager with an integra. do i drive like an asshole all the time? no. i believe there is a time and place to do that. do i like to haul ass down the highway? yes. but i like getting good gas mileage first and foremost. my reasoning for wanting to have the rear view camera on a switch is just for more added comfort to know whats going on behind me. AKA i like to watch my back.

It's actually really simple. So there you go. Haul ass to radio shack, and do your mod!

Yeah I agree with the whole bunch of the rest.. I'm not too sure if it's that great of an Idea. I mean I guess it would mean something if we can actually record daily driving, so that when someone hits it and runs it'll record the license plate... but just looking at the picture while driving is essentially the same as popping in a DVD while driving your car. hmmm Same thing except instead of cartoons, you'll be watching the back while you're going forward LOL

That might be fun. LOLLLL
