08 TL Navigation Units For 04 TL

Didn't post many, because they kept saying "Old man car"
However, I got a complete set of units removed from a 08 TL that had been already crashed. I paid $350 for it. I just wanted to ask if anyone can take a look to see, if possible, to test this units whether they're were working or not. Note that the units are w/o wiring harness. Here's the pictures I tooked from last night. Can someone please help me out by taking a look at it, I'd appreciate it.

You got everything for $350! You lucky bastard! The screen alone usually sells for that much on ebay. Anyways congrats on the find. As far as the testing whether it works you can't not unless you install it. Everything looks in prestine condition so I don't see why it wouldn't. Hurry up and install that stuff though then you will have the complete conversion. No one has done the 2008 screen yet in a 2004. Keep us posted. You can buy your connectors for the conversion at geekeng.com. How is your knowledge with electronics?

i was gonna buy that from the guy u got it from.he posted it from kijiji, initially he removed it for me.. but i backed out cause he wouldnt let me have the wiring for it. and he didnt wanna take out the rest of the components.. and its from an 08 so all the lights will be red.. there s few more pieces u will need to make it work.. like the hfl thats mounted in the front dome light, u also need the steering wheel controls. all u really need to do is find a custom wire harness and install it.. but you have the main components.. and the 08 drive:P im from brampton by the way.

You'll be fine with the 04-06 harness, except the plug that goes from the radio to the nav display is different. That is the only exception. All other connections navigation wise are identical. Trying to put the actual 2008 radio in the 04 may be more trouble than it is worth and may be hard to get the connectors for it. Just because it's an 08 doesn't mean the lighting will be red that is only in the type-s. And in anycase in the nav display you can swap over your bulbs from the ac controls and just buy new bulbs for the bottom 4 that is integrated into the display. You can do without the HFL for now the only thing I have heard is that you can't dial out from the screen but your HFL will still work if you use your 2004 for now.

HybridTL,
At first, I was browsing to look for the rear Falken tire(235/40/18). Then a minute later, I saw a 2008 Navigation complete set come up and he asked for $500.
After, he messaged me to call him and I sent him another e-mail, with a different name and he said the same thing. A couple days later, he sent me a e-mail and he said wanted $350 now. I called him right away to aarange where to meet to pick it up.
After we met, I asked a few questions and checked the unit, which looks new and has no damages. After I paid him, I asked him if he could try to get me a wiring harness with other few stuff as well and he said he could. You knew the price of the screen, DVD unit, and the sub screen and you stayed there for longer period of time?

It sounds like you really wanted to trade in or buy. That was the same reaction I would get when I still in your age. For me, I enjoy my ride, I don't want to trade him yet. Also, I did few mod on it and he still looks pretty good.

Wow! You got an awesome deal on that one...eventhough you still have to pay for the harness, you're still on top. Goodluck with the install, many people have done this here, so use "search" or just pm some people.

type "acura navigation disc update" into google and goto the alpine order store. Alpine does the navigation for Acura. You may want to search next time on the forums or create another post. It's not cool to take a post off track.

Go to http://www.acuranavi.com and follow the prompts. (That URL should be a link. The current board software doesn't make that apparent, but try clicking on it.)

well considering i have had my tl since 2004 (new) i am considering the new one.. but depends if i buy my house first.. if thats the case i will keep my tl. all i did to mine was a system, lowered it, changed the front to the 08 type s and put type S wheels on it.. i was contemplating when i was gonna buy it off him.. like. do i really wanna go through the trouble of sourcing all the other parts? do i really need navi? i mean i am perfectly capable of installing it.. since i am mechanic.. and electronics is my fave thing on cars to do..

Please refrain from using that kind of reference in 3G. If you have any questions, please PM me and we can discuss it. Thanks.
