I was looking to add the aux input to my 05 TL and I know that the 08's have them. Would It be possible to just get an 08 Head Unit and swap them out? Reason I don't put an after market head unit is because I still want the stock look.

 

I think there is a minor difference in the wiring connector between 04-06 and 07-08 unit. Just on jack could you confirm this????

 

I did this on my 04 TL you need the 07-08 radio harness as well. You need to cut your old
harness and wire it back up yourself no instructions really on it.
Most of the wires match up and the rest you have to figure out.
Way easier to just add an Dice ipod connector for $80 then doing this swap

 

I was also thinking about this, the junkyard I go to will sell almost any radio from a car for $30 if you pull it yourself, I think I could figure out the harness and wire it properly. My only concern is if the compass is in the headunit itself or would that be something I would have to retrofit also?
