Question '08 non-nav to '08 nav conversion

Hello acura lovers. i am relatively new to posting on this site, but i've basically followed most of the threads on non-nav to nav conversions. however, most of them talk about converting older, non-nav tl's to newer 07-08 nav systems. if anyone has any suggestions on the parts and manuals that i will need, i will be sure to go ahead and undertake this exciting project. so far, i have the dvd drive, the disc, the code, the back up camera, and the gps antenna assy. i know i'll need the navtool, the display screen, the steering wheel controls, and the subunit display/vent. i guess what i'm really asking is: is it easier to work with a newer model tl? has anyone done the conversion on a 08 tl? if so, i would love to see some pictures and welcome some DIY. can't wait to hear from you all!!!!!!!

I just converted my 08 TL non-navi to NAVI 2 last weekend. It's definitely easier to convert do this conversion as most of the plugs are the same.

Its about $1000 LESS than it would have been at the dealer. In my opinion, its probably the best mod you can do and it's totally worth it. If you don't have the funds available right away (about $1000 for parts) just save up and do it. Acura should have released ALL TL's with navigation. Its adds to the car 1000x over and its something u use everyday. Be patient, look for extremely good deals on parts (price comparison shopping) and be prepared to be travel to look at parts. If you have any questions, post them on here.

it's actually a lot less than getting it done at the dealer or buying the car with it already installed. (about 3 grand difference). i managed to stack up on most of the parts needed and i haven't even hit a grand yet. i think that's a pretty good deal...

I went the easy route and bought a package from Martin ( acurahondatech@comcast.net ) and installed it myself. It works great. You can also buy individual parts from him if you can't find some stuff. Just email him and he'll help you out.

it's been three years since you posted this thread, Jenni.

Did you buy the navigation items that are needed to do the swap, yet?
