07 TL Stereo Install

So, i'm a first time post'r, but long time reader. I used several posts here to speed up wiring of the stock amp. So, as soon as I figure out how I will put up photos of the install.

Here is what I did.........

Rockford 360.2 OEM ADAPTER
Rockford 1500-1BD Sub Amp
Rockford T800-4 100x4 highs Amp
2 Rockford P3D212 12" Subs
All solid fiberglass boxes.
Custom fiberglass amp rack.
0 awg wiring

Haven't done the speakers yet, but will soon.

I have, but have not installed:
Front - Infinity Perfect 6.1 system
Rear - Infinity 652.5i
Not gonna change the center channel.

Just thought I would post as many posts here have helped me.

Now if I can just figure out postin' pics.

If anyone has a quick tutorial on it, please inform?

Thanks.

Well I'm kinda surprised no picked green, it looks really good in person, but in the end good ol' blue (blue, you're my boy!) wins out.

I need to get around to finishing the floor panels but overall I'm pretty happy.

I'm not the biggest fan of sealed boxes, but just couldn't get enough volume with the design to go ported.

I'm actually debating on selling this set up and going with a bandpass ported up into the rear deck. I've been playing with some numbers and it just might work for a particular 12 in a 7th order.

I made everything seen, the boxes were custom fit and built into the trunk. In fact, the passenger side even conforms to the nav unit. I didn't want to move it and have it with my other equipment.

Looking back I wish I would have just gone with what I have always loved, either ported or 7th orders.

It was a long tedious process but I'm sure the next revision will go faster

If anyone is interested, I will post a couple pics of how I did the boxes. I just need to reduce the size, obviously, after my first try made them the size of texas!

Later!

For some reason pics didn't go through, lets do pics take 2!

Getting this stuff to hold and set right, when upside down is a B&*#$!

This was the rear part of the box, trimmed to approx size, and then fitted the wooden speaker ring.

It was tricky because the trunk isn't symetrical. So, the passenger side needed much more work behind the scenes.....

So, then after the speaker ring was mounted, I wrapped the whole thing in fleece, and built up the top, inside and out.

For the record, I will NEVER work with vinyl on a irregular surface ever again!

Looks freakin awesome and classy, but its a bear. Need a extra pair of hands for sure.

Overall, I didn't save much weight, but saved lots of wasted trunk volume. Each box is approximately 1.45 ft^3. A little big, but then again they were originally designed for beefier subs, but that was a lesson learned that we don't wanna discuss.

The boxes average 3/8's to 1/2" thick fiberglass. OVERKILL, say it will me....................

But its all good, I run them hard and I dont' hear ANY of the ringing I've heard from other poorly created glass boxes.

Thanks for your comments, guess I need to order the rest of the blue lights?

One more idea though, ponder this my friends...................

What if I ......................

A. Go with the blue lights around the amps, and blue lights shining of the floor.

Or.........................Drumroll............... ....

B. Go with blue lights around the amps, and a DIFFERENT color shining on the floor? (Cue: Dr. Evil'sFinger!)

Thats some deep S*&#, I know, but work with me.

Well this was short lived, I want a victory, so I'm selling the TL. Anyone interested in buying my setup?

It fits the nav mounted DVD area as well.

Selling TL, Custom TL 12" boxes for sale

Selling my TL, so the custom fiberglass boxes are for sale. The amp rack sold, so I have 2 12" custom fit boxes designed for Rockford P3D212's. Other subs with similar mounting diameters will work. The box on the right side of the car is built to leave the nav dvd rom where it is normally. perfect fit! Make me an offer. I have one of the rockford subs left as well. Will sell individually also. I'm in phoenix, az. Have a good one!
