'07 OEM Amp question: 'Mute' Wire

I hope someone is savvy enough to know what I am referring to. If not I will have to experiment with it. I am assuming the mute wire from the HU to the OEM amp is for the peripheral devices (BT, Navi, etc...) I will be replacing the OEM amp with a stack of Mosconi amps and want to retain this feature if it is for what I think it is for.

Does anyone know how to retain it without tapping the amp post processing as I am trying to eliminate the amp completely.

Thanks for any guidance in the matter.

Jesse

Not sure if this helps, but I will post the link anyway. post #45 has the HU output wires labeled, but there is more info on page 1 too. CLICK HERE

Yes, that does help confirm my question. Now I need to either figure out a way to retain it without the amp or mod the amp to take in the input from the HU passively and only act upon the signal for muting. I might have to try and get a line driver in that circuit too. Hummmmmm. This could be interesting.

not sure what your trying to do, but the muting is handled in the HU. my amps are muted whenever I use HFL or voice prompts are issued. I am using the pre amp signal.

I am trying to eliminate the OEM amp totally and install four mosconi amps with 6to8 processors while retaining all of the same functions I have now (BT calls in and out, Navi, etc...). I just do not want to nix the wire and try and make a call or receive a call and my music continue to play as am trying to get through to people. Until your comment i was under the impression that the mute wire was controlled by the buttons on the steering wheel, it allowed for system (music) mute for interface (i.e. user commanding). The HU (as far as I knew) muted the system with incoming calls and Navi messages.
