'07-'08 DVD Rom in a '04-'06 ???

Question '07-'08 DVD Rom in a '04-'06 ???
A friend of mine got in a rear end accident in his 06 TL and he needs to replace his DVD Rom Drive in the trunk.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the 07-08 ROM Drive is a plug and play or will he have to look for an 04-06 Drive, thanks in advance.

from looking at the back of both the 04-06 and 07-08 Rom Drives it seems that the newer drive has an extra plug but thats about it.

i believe that extra port is for the rear camera

^ but will the 07/08 Drive itself work without a problem in a 06

I'm pretty sure you'll need a custom harness for it to work. Just get an 04-06.
