06 TL subwoofer rattles
Just picked up an 06 earlier this week. I traded my 04 TL. The 06 is sweet except for the rattling subwoofer. I've turned it down as low as I can to keep the rattling to min. Anyone have this problem?

I've got Bass at +4, sub at +3, volume up to 30 and it only rattles on a couple songs that don't have quick bass hits. If the bass is a hit, then a prolonged low sound, it rattles, but not too bad. I will probably add some cushioning or rubber inserts as described in other posts to completely get rid of rattles.

My subwoofer only rattles on certain sound, and others, not at all.
I have XMRadio in another car with afthermarket equipment and it kicks butt. It's nice have my sub in the other car set as it should me to enjoy XM music.

Check this TSB . . . https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...0&postcount=23
My '05 developed the subwoofer rattle pretty bad only after a few months. It was very noticable on XM. I guess technically it wasn't the subwoofer, but rather the rear deck. I could hear the rattle if I was going over really large bumps. But it mainly only happened due to the subwoofer base. I took it in to the dealer, and for whatever reason, they ordered a new rear deck for me. I just picked up the car yesterday and it sounds wayyyy better. According to the receipt they also installed some "insulation" around the subwoofer. Why they didn't just do what the TSB suggests, I don't know, but regardless they fixed it (for free).

Take it back to the dealer. They were able to fix mine. Service rep informed me its a pretty common problem. I just have to find my drivers side window rattle now then I should be rattle free.

In my case, it's not just the subwoofer, but also the passenger side doorpanel rattles. It stops though when there is a passenger resting his arm on the handrest. I believe it's a loose clip inside somewhere. My area dealers are very booked up in their service departments so I always postpone it since it's not a very big issue. Anyone had this problem with their TL's?

Possible help with the window rattle
An earlier poster mentioned a driver's window rattle. I found a super simple fix to the window rattle in my 06 TL. My rattle was really more like a quiet ticking over bumpy roads. However, it was right by my ear and it was a new car, so it was extraordinarily annoying.
Turned out to be the window moving, just a tiny, tiny amount, inside the seal at the top of the door. With the window rolled down, I wiped Armor All up in the seal. I wiped over the Armor All with another paper towel. The ticking disappeared and hasn't returned. It's been about a month. I'll reapply it occasionally.
