'04 TL - How should the sub sound?
Greetings all, looks like you have a great forum here. Thanks for all the information here.
I just picked up an '04 TL, literally 2 days ago. I have not had much time to poke around in the car, but while driving I was playing with the audio controls and found the "sub" adjustment. It does not seem to have any affect when I adjust it.
Was the sub an option, or is it likely bad, or unhooked? Where is the subwoofer located?
Thanks for any help you can offer,

If you are turning the sub adjustment up and hearing no change, something is wrong. All 3g TLs have an 8" sub. It's limited, but it's there and you would know. Maybe the previous owner fried it.
To see if it's plugged in, you can drop the upper liner on your trunk. Then reach up and see if you can find the connector. There should be a connection on the sub, and a connection clipped to the lower level sheet metal.

I had same experience with my 07. I looked at the sub and there was a small hole on the material behind the cone which may have reduced the output. Also I dont think the factory sub was intended to really shake anything.
