'04 TL camera wiring

Hi all,

Been gone a while, but still have my trusty 2004 now with over 150,000 miles. Years ago I pulled out Dom's unit (and much of the wiring) that was running my backup camera as it broke and was negatively impacting the stock GPS.

I still have the camera mounted on the trunk and would like to use it again.

Is there any way to hook this up in the trunk to the DVD unit for camera only when the car is in reverse? I don't need any other features.

I just don't want to pull the car apart, run wires from back to front, get to the back of the nav unit in the dash, etc.

A simple camera without all the PITA work.

Thanks.

I have the Navtool and had it installed without having to run wires all the way from/to the front. I comes with a Y connector that connects in line directly to the DVD player in the trunk.

Wish there were a cheaper option for just needing to connect a camera to activate in reverse

The screen in the front displays in RGB or component video.
Most cameras output in composite video (yellow wire).

The module that converts composite video to component video itself is expensive.
The NavTools and video modules for the TL out there use the module as a base to work with and add cool stuff so it works with the TL.

In my youth I had Dom's unit from TVNavtogo. Prob had it for 5-7 years (time flys) with a DVD player I never used an all. It crapped out one day and wouldn't let the nav screen work which I needed, so I pulled about all the wires I could out and removed the whole system. It's been a number of years, but nice to get the camera back, which is mounted on the trunk still.
