can u take a navi from a 06 tl n put it on a 04 base tl that doesnt come with navi is it possible that it would work??? and if so who could put it

 

It is possible, but it is very time consuming and difficult. You'd have to find someone in your area to do it, that's good with electronics and wiring.

It can be done, but it probably will be cheaper to just get another car that has navi.

BTW, there is no difference between navigation systems between the 04 and the 06. Only the 07 and 08 had the nav traffic and the Dolby Pro Logic II and a different navigation version.

 

Incorrect. The NAVI system might be the same, but the wiring to plug it into the audio head unit so your navigation can give and respond to voice feedback is different between 2004 and 05-06. Alpine changed the wiring harness so if you are trying to put a non-2004 navi into a 2004, the navigation will work but you will have no audio or way to talk to it.

I would know, I have an 04 TL that came with navi stock and I replaced the audio head unit for one that came from an 05 (the CD player died). The audio unit works perfectly, but now the navigation doesn't talk or make sound anymore because some wires were switched.

Unless you can find a wiring harness that converts from an 04 into any of these years, or buy a 2004 navigation system, it won't work 100%.
