Worth every penny, isn't it. Loads of useful information. And a real bargain.

To Ron A;

Yeah, a heck of a lot cheaper than the 4-volume set my wife bought me as a Christmas present for my 2002 Altima SE. That was something like $320!

This is much better.

I had 'em a week before I took delivery of the car! I bought both the service manual AND the electrical supplement.

I've have the factory Field Service Manuals for every car I own including my '69 Dart!

Even if you never do any work on your own car, it often helps to understand what's going on, which puts you in a better position to talk to the service folks at the dealer (less chance of being taken for a ride, so to speak). It's a HUGE book, but that's true for any car these days...they're so damned complicated compared to years ago.

It's the first purchase I make after buying any new car, and every single one of them has saved me its purchase price and more over the life of the car.

I agree. Though I won't be doing any of the work myself, I will be ordering the book tonight to better understand what is going on.

Book? Why cant these people learn and put them on CD/DVD?

Full Text Search, Print only the pages you want, grease up a page you just go back and re-print it, etc.

Not weird at all. Inquiring minds want to know.

The service manual is 2,159 (two thousand one hundred fiftynine, and yes I counted) pages. Don't know about electrical manual.

I didn't count pages, but based on size, the electrical supplement is around 800 pages.

I agree, but the problem is that most service manuals are bought by repair facilities, which are only very slowly installing computers at the repair stations (for other than reading the DTC's on the cars). Robert Bentley, which publishes service manuals for many European cars, has started putting the manuals on CD-ROM's, but it's not catching on with the other publishers as quickly.

Does the manual come with detailed instructions on disassembling parts of the interior (removing door panels, headliner, etc)? I'm of the impression that I'm going to be on my own as far as solving some of the squeaks and such... I'm just afraid to take stuff apart without knowledge of putting it back together..

Yes, there are diagrams and instructions on how to take everything apart, I just got mine yesterday. I'm going to try and take the driver's side door panel off and see if I can locate that annoying rattle, the one that goes away once you lower the window.

Way back when, Acura was the new kid on the block, and the Service Manual came with the car - it was a selling point. My '87 Integra had one, along with metal valve stems and 1/2-inch thick carpeting throughout, even in the cargo hold. Those were the days.

I noticed that too. Don't worry...go ahead and order it. You'll get the right book as long as you make sure you order the 2004 one. Helm just forgot to redo the coding for the web site.
