Are you the key master?

When I got my car it only came with 1 switchblade key and that's it. I would love to take advantage of csmeance's offer, but since I only have the one key I can't ship it off. What are my options other than the dealer. I've seen a few people suggest going on eBay and buying the key and then have it milled at Acura. This doesn't need to be another switchblade.

I tried doing a search, but couldn't find anything concrete. So sorry if this had been asked a few times and my search skills are just not awake yet.

Thanks!

yeah go to acura and they can mill you a standard key. you may be able to get it cheaper on ebay but the dealer gave me a real good price (i think around 30) you dont have to get the remote either. i dont think they could even get you a switchblade key haha

1) if you have a 07-08 TL, you dont need to mill your key, Acura should be able to CUT it for you.

2) Acura does not and cannot mill keys, maybe you meant to say cut. Milling will put the grooves that run the long way on they key blade so that they will work with the 04-06 TL lock design. Cutting they key puts the little teeth on it that are specific to your car.

I did mean cut. Thank you for the clarification. I called my service rep at Acura to see how much it'd cost.

Alright Ghostbuster fans, just got off the phone with the dealer. It's $99.50 for a key with remote and $31 for one w/out. Plus it's $65 to program the key.

Any recommendations on key-blanks?

hold on, what year tl do you have? You will never need to send me a key if you order. If you have an 07-08 TL, I can get you a switchblade key a bit cheaper through richi.

EDIT: found out he has an 07 Type-S, you can email me at csmeance@yahoo.com
