Let me start off by saying that I love 3G TL's, for some reason they are my all time favorite car and I want one more than anything. I currently have a 2003 Acura TL maroon red which I like, but ive been trying to sell forever in order to upgrade. My friend has an 06 TL w/ nav and 15% tint and a two thousand sound system which he says I can keep if I buy his car. His car also only had 51k miles on it and was going to sell it to me for $14,000. So I am on my way to the dealership to sell my car and my friend who owns the car calls me and tells me that hes so sorry, but his car fucking BLEW UP. He got in a wreck on the highway and his car blew up on the day I was going to buy his. Total buzzkill, but I am not giving up and am continuting my search which I have been for over a year for a 3G TL.

Yes, blew up as in an explosion. But it was only because he was speeding on the highway, shoulder ended and he went right into a ditch after hitting a sign where the car caught fire, he got out and it blew up. Here is what it looks like now, and btw it was a nice shiny black color before. And no I don't like in NC, I live in Kansas and its taking me so long to find a car cause im only 17 and whatever I get for my car I have to pay the difference between that and the new car but thats not going to stop me, im determined.

keep looking like others have said. The right one will come. It took me 3 weeks before the stealership finally gave in and sold the car to me for 36k out the door. I just stood firm and didnt play the game they wanted, it came out good in the end. Luckily they called cause i was negotiating for 2 other cars and was waiting for the right dealership to give in and give me the deal i wanted.

Yeah he was speeding on the shoulder of the highway, was probably one of the "nothing bad will ever happen to me" moments. But he is fine, although he had a bloody face from the wreck but is fine now.

That is some serious accident.
As to car hunt, it took me a good month of looking around before I found the 06 MT that was in my price range. I used Vehix and had to drive close to 100 miles to the dealership that had the car.

That's not so bad. Buy the car back from the insurance company, give it a new paint job in the color of your choice and your good to go.

...On a serious note sounds like your friends lucky to be alive. If he had been knocked unconscious when he hit the sign there is no doubt he would no longer be with us.

 

Looks just like my bipolar ex's TL. She keyed mine, I pressed charges, got her fired from work, got her arrested, and the day she got out she got drunk, hit a tree, broke both her legs and a bunch of other stuff, burned her face, and her non insured leased TL burned to the ground. Karma's a bitch. Sounds like your friend won't be speeding on the shoulder ever again.

It looks like he hit the ditch pretty fast and cracked the oil pan or something, there was a spark and then BAM! Car's on fire and there's nothing you can really do. I'm sorry, your friend is an idiot for driving on the shoulder, he had it coming. As well, it's good that happened, you can see from that, that the car was abused constantly!

I thought your current gf was the one with a TL. I'm sure she was a bitch and all but that is a crazy story. She's lucky to be alive. Being careless and irresponsible typically go hand in hand with being a mental case.
