Yellow fogs are melting my headlights

Maybe noshow_nogo will be able to add to this. The two of us talked quite a bit about the overlays (he has them done). I picked up an extra set he had, but I wasn't pleased with my installation technique.
I'm interested to hear what the cause of this is? I wonder why it would do that? Unless it's burning / melting?

Are you sitting with the lights on alot?
Airflow is their only cooling method
Put plastic over anything and it will eventually get hot!!

i'm running a stock fog setup with the yellow overlay. I keep my headlights/foglights on all the time day/night and have had no problems for about 3 months now. It seems that you may have used an overwatted bulb. and a piece of vinyl is no match to that heat. even the plastic housing is iffy at that point.

I run Hoen "All-Weather" bulbs which are Yellow. This is my second car with these same bulbs and I haven't noticed any issues, but I usually only turn on my fogs on dark back roads or when it's foggy out. I don't drive with them all the itme, but I'm pretty sure they are same wattage as stock, so I don't see why there would be any problems.
