What is the best rate out there for XM service? Can we get it any cheaper than $8 - $9 per month?
Can you pay less and get a smaller selection of channels - Like with cable - you know, basic package etc?
Thanks.

Im pretty sure you cant choose a smaller package. One thing you can do is let your subscription end and 6 weeks later they will call and give you a deal of $5.99 a month? I think thats right. But thats only for 3 months i think

Try going to the xm site...they have all the pricing information right there at your fingertips.
The only way to lower the monthly cost is to purchase an extended contract from 1-5 years. Depending on the length of the contract, it lowers the monthly cost upwards of 25%. There is no "basic" package that you can get to limit the number of channels to reduce the cost....it's all or nothing (as far as I know, but I'm sure their site would mention it if there were options like that available).
The $5.99/month deal mentioned above is only for a short time, like 3 months or so if I remember correctly. Not worth it to me to let the subscription expire, wait for them to call and offer it. I just purchased the extended contract just before my trial period ended and had no lapse in service.

I asked about this in another XM thread but did not get an answer.
What the hell is the Playboy Channel? Is it constant moaning or something?

My commute just isn't long enough to justify the 9-10 bucks per month...hell, thats gas money! (well, a couple gallons I guess!)
According to the website, if I were to go out and buy a XM stereo for in my home, there is another monthly fee for that as well.
Hate to see the XM go in another month...maybe the wife will increase my allowance!

I am not sure why anyone would want this. Lets face it..the last thing you want to hear is dumb ass playmates talking. They are best seen not heard.
