Xm Radio
Is XM Radio throwing a free promotion. When I first got my TL the XM radio preview channels were like 7. Well four days later which is tonight I get in my car to see whats on the XM station. I thought I only had 7 stations as I was flipping through I soon realized I had all the stations. Does everyone else have all of them too? If this is an error on XM part keep it on a hush hush, lol. XM is awesome so many different types of music I love it. XM Definately Got Me Hooked on wanting to buy the subscription. The plan worked. haha

Apparently, you didn't listen to Channel 1 for very long.
Channel 1 is the teaser channel, and it tells you that it may be a few days before you get all the XM channels. You need to run the car out in the open for awhile to get the subscription complete (possibly a channel at a time), I'm guessing.
I don't know if the Playboy channel is included, but I would guess not.

Re: Xm Radio
Either you or your dealer must activate XM 3-month promotion trial for your new 04TL. After applying to XM, you have to stay under the open-sky for 5-30 minutes in order to get XM all channels ON.

If there is a Howard Stern-only channel, WELL .... then ...
There'll be two XM pay channels I wouldn't get ....

The entire system goes on at once when it is activated.. not one channel at a time.
If you do not have an active subscription, it lets you hear a few "random" channels which change a few times a day, so you can hear what you are missing!
When you buy the car, the dealer should have activated your account for the 3 month free trial by the time you drove off the lot.
Sounds like the originator of this thread did not have a dealer who did it until later.
My free trial will end about 4 months and a week after I got the car according to the mail I received from XM/Acura.
Of course I am going to renew... you would have to be a some kind of sadist to go back to FM after having XM!

So far, they've sent me 2 notices about renewing (my 3 month subscription ends this month).
Here's a related question, for those that are renewing their XM after the 3 month period (I'll be renewing it...), are you going with the month to month or electing to buy a 1-5 year pre-paid package? I'm considering biting the bullet and getting the 5 year package. It gives you the lowest monthy cost and if you cancel before the term is up, you're supposed to get a pro-rated refund. Seems like a no lose proposition, but the only question I have in the back of my mind is the long term viability of the SM company itself. They're still bleeding cash at this point, right?

I signed up for a 2 yr package since I expect to keep the car at least that long. I stopped in Best Buy to check out the home units and was told that you need a seperate subscription plus the cost of a home receiver. Bummer.
