Hi Guys,

First off, I tried to do a forum search of the post that was up a while back that went into detail on how to decipher your VIN but came up short . My question to you guys is...what does the "X" in the middle of my VIN indicate? I went to serveral dealers websites and noticed that about 10-25% of the VINs had the letter. It's in the 9th position from the left. I know it's has nothing to do with navi, transmission, or summer tire options. I would appreciate any info you folks may have. Thanks.

Position 9 is just a check digit, it has nothing to do with how the car is equipped...

 

I'm thinking about making a PHP script that lets you input your VIN and it will tell you all the info you need to know. Should be pretty easy.

Too bad, would have been fun to make. Plus, this one doesn't tell you the transmission and stuff.

 

Thanks so much guys :toothless . It turned out to be the check digit to make sure that the VIN was valid. For a second, I thought it's Acura secretly installing the much anticipated SH-AWD "x" option into my TL :devil: :devil: ! Only 10 more days till I take delivery :toothless :toothless .
