Is it worthwhile to buy Extened warrenty on 04 TL?

I'm going to buy a 04 Tl 38,000mile for about $25,000

Is it worthwhile to pay some $2000 to buy the bumper to bumper 100,000 extended warranty?

I heard someone bought for only $800, can anyone tell me where?

Av extended warranty is like insurance, you're betting you're going to use it, while the company hopes you don't.

Having said that, when I purchased the TL from the Acura dealer, they certified the car, giving a 5 year, 62,000 mile bumper to bumper, then the additonal 2 years, 38,000 on the powertrain. I then purchased the additional coverage from Acura which included the 7 year 100,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty, roadside assistance, etc. for $895 plus tax. The additional feature is that this coverage is transferable if one ever decides to sell the car. This would make a resale quite appealing to a buyer, and I feel the $895 is money well spent, especially if an electronic part decides to go south.

See Acura.com for all the details, but below was copied from that site:

The optional Acura Care Certified Additional Coverage provides the highest level of customer protection available. Owners should inquire about additional coverage at the time of purchase, or lease of the Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle.
ELIGIBLE VEHICLES
All Acura Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles
HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
Coverage up to 7-year/100,000 miles (from the original Acura New Vehicle Limited Warranty in-service date).

Extends the same coverage provided in the Acura 12-month/12,000-mile limited

Acura Care Certified Additional Coverage is transferable.

I did the same thing, '05 w/30k that was certified, I extended the 70k mile powertrain warranty to 100k mile bumper-to-bumper for $980. That's got me covered for another 4 years or so, and I've already had the regulator replaced on the driver window so I feel it's money well spent. BTW I went through Acura TLC offered by the dealer.

No question about it, the extened warranty was the best money I have ever spent. it has more than paid for its self. By the way I purchased it from Acura at the time of purchase.

Hondacuraworld doesn't offer 2004 Acura TLs with $0 deductible.

Look at the ones with the $100 deductible.

It looks like your TL may be able to get the exxtended warranty from there for ~$1300.
60month/60K miles for 2004 or newer with up to 40K miles on the odometer.
$700 + $585.

WOW $2000 that is insane!

I bought my extended warranty for $550 from Park Ave Acura in New Rochelle , NJ

It was on a 2005 Tl in Nov of 2006.

No way i would have paid 2g's for it.

You should have some serious room for improvement would not pay more than $800

Good luck

I never buy extended warranties as I had rather bank the money. The dealers love to sell these as they are high profit margin items. In most cases you will never get your money's worth out of them.

I would say yes!.....I brought mine with the extented warranty, although from the factory it comes with 50,000 miles,I had to take in twice for some miner problems. My factory warranty is up but I have a great sense of security knowing I'm still covered!......I paid 2,000 for mine with a 100.00 deductable,if you find it cheaper make sure you know what it's covered for??,mine is bumper to bumper!
