Is it worth it???
Is it worth it???
So I have an 05 SSM TL auto w/navi. Has about 36k miles on it and clean title. Ive always wanted a manual TL and found a black on with 67k miles, clean title and no navi for sale for about 19k... I know this price is pretty high because I got mine for 17.5k.. What do you guys think? should I try negotiating with them? Is it worth it? or should i just wait for a better deal? thanks guys.
let me get this straight
you are trying to trade in your navi tl with low mileage for a car that has almost DOUBLE the mileage you have and has NO navi just because its a manual?
simple answer...thats just dumb man
trade in your car for a type S or keep it.. 36k miles for an 05 is nothing ...i have 62k

Youd be CRAZY to do that. An 05 with 36 miles is still a baby. You'll have it for years and years to come at the rate your putting miles on it.
In my opinion I'd say keep your TL that you have now, pay it off and then put what you WOULD be spending on your car payment every month into a high yeild savings account. Then, buy a car minus the loan when you save enough up
Nothing beats a nice car, without the loan to worry about!

OP,
Manual is gives you the feeling of being part of the car - awesome feeling but not 'special'.
Don't fall in the trap that you will have a one-of-kind experience driving a manual. About 107.3% of the rest of the world drives a manual; that includes the 18 year olds that just got their license to the 90+ yr-olds that are sick of having used all arms and legs to drive a car for the past 60/70 yrs.. I grew up driving manuals; automatics were reserved for the wealthy!
Few days ago i was in a manual, stuck in traffic, trying to look up stuff on car's GPS and talking on the phone, not pretty to say the least.
Having said that, a manual tranny or double clutch with paddles (my preference) is a must on a sport car IMO.

Manual IMO is fun for 3months to a year...living in south florida it's never fun...now that ive been living in Dallas for a while I can see it being fun, but I still would not go manual for a daily driver.
