Black out lights or TL-S conversion?

I just bought a black 2004 TL. Needless to say I love it!
Im looking to black out the lights. They sell these strips that you put on your lights on Ebay, anyone know if those look clean once put on the car?
Should I black out the back lights or get the TL type S lights?

Thank you

Most people will say search, but since you are new welcome to az..

Should you black out your lights? Some people say its over played and to many people do it.. The murdered out look...

I say to each his own, if you want to do it, then do it.. Shouldn't matter what people on a computer say.. if its what you want then do it

Welcome!

Definitely black out your headlights.
If you can find a Type-S diffuser, it will make your headlights look really close to Type-S.

07 tl-s. blacked out headlights, LED strip, angel eyes, switchbacks, zkwr lenses, CF corners. 2 rocker switches to turn on lights at will. 1 for angel eyes. 1 for LED strip. hope this helps.

I like the Angel Eyes, But im not a big fan of the LED Strips. By all means they look good on ur headlights, they arent for me tho. I would have to vote a 1+ for those headlights as well. Nice Work did you do the headlights on your own?

Sick!!! Do they auto turn off when you lock the car, or if you leave the switch on does it kill your battery?

Very nice

I wanted a darker look on my tailights (since the 04-06 stock tails are bright red and stick out like a sore dick), but wanted the red to show through a little. I didn;t want TOTALLY blacked out.

I went with Lamin-x smoke film on my tailights and rear side markers... I am 100% happy with it. It is almost 2 years old and has stood up very well. Here's a pic...

i don't think the OP is talking about actually taking the headlights off the car, baking the headlights, cracking them open, and blacking out the interior...

i think what the OP meant was to black out the headlights the cheap route using tint film applied to the exterior of the car when the headlights are still on the car.

to each with their own, but to me that's a poor mans mod. not to make fun of anyones financial status, but blacking out tails and headlights with tint or black spray is sooooo cheap

av2600 your front lights are ridiculously nice, I jizzed
I want the angel lights, but havnt been able to find them just yet. Im looking to join some sort of toronto Acura TL club so I can find out where people are getting their parts. So far all I have is ebay and stuff from there is iffy.
I plan on using the tinting film to blacken out the lights. Iv seen a few and it looks clean.

Definitely black out the headlights, you're looking at spending money on the Type-S headlights AND the Type-S ballasts. I believe the corners might be different as well. That's a crap load of money. I'd say use your current ballast and black them out. They look pretty nice blacked out, heck blacked out with ambers is a hot look.. I saw it a few times and it's pretty sick.

all of you people got this misunderstood. you all are assuming by "blacked out" as in putting his current headlights in the oven and disassembling it and painting the internals black.

THAT IS NOT WHAT HE MEANS. he's talking about getting black vinyl overlay and laying it over the OUTSIDE of the headlights.

way to kill light output and the looks of the car

Don't put a vinyl/tint overlay over your headlights.
