Get it. Even if you don't use the navigation feature, the touchscreen is more convenient and quicker to use for radio controls, etc. And you get the upper display where you can view your climate control settings and such without looking down as far. Either way, the TL is an amazing car that you'll love. The 07-08 models added some nice features too.
^^ not what he said.. Of all the mods I have done, Hands down the best one was the navi conversion. Between its huge screen( compared to most stock ones) and the endless features Its a must. I cant even recall how many times this has gotten me home when I was in the middle of no where.. I would def get it to start instead of swapping it over.
I test drove a navi and non-navi and would say go with the navi if you have the choice. Some things may be more important though. Don't comprimise on other more important factors just to get navi. I was looking for a MT6 though and exterior color, condition the car, mileage, price and of course the manual transmission were more important to me than the navi. I found one that checked out with all of the above but it didn't have the navi. I jumped on it and don't regret it for a second. But if I all things were equal though, I would have it with navi.
If you're getting an auto then it should be much easier to find one with Navi that is good in all the other aspects.

I was in a similar situation wanting a 6mt. I couldn't find one that was in the condition that I wanted but came across an auto that had navi and was in excellent condition with maint records so I went with that one.
+1, I purchased my 05 without navi, and I regret it know. I was looking into the navi conversion but it looks way complicated and pricey.
I sought out to get a 6MT with Navi and test drove others without Navi. Do the same and decide before you buy.
Everyone pointed out all the great things w/Navi. The only issue is finding one in your price range, desired color, acceptable condition, and desired transmission. Good luck and be patient if you don't find what you want.

For sure!
You guys disapoint me you should've made it clear that he needs a Navigational Unit
I just recently bought my 08 Type S and the one thing I could never gripe or complain about is the cars backup camera navigation/radio display unit. I initially hated the color but everytime I sat inside my car all my worries disappeared.
The navigation unit brings tranquility when you step inside your TL and close the door its like being back inside your mother womb so warm and cozy.
