Withdrawal

So my car has been at Acura since Friday ... hopefully Ill have it back on Monday or Tuesday. Went in cause I said my clutch wasnt feeling right and the Acura service representative said hed cover the parts/labor for it. Bad part is its taking 10-14 days?! Meanwhile Im stuck with this 5AT I guess its all good though, Im ridiculously over my mileage anyways.

They gave me a WDP TL with parchment leather, its cozy, and gave me a new appreciation for WDP, even though I was always fond of the color.

So, how many miles??

Did they find the problem, or tell ya what they're replacing, etc?

The car has 11 thousand miles on it - mind you in less than four months :-D. They said that the clutch was completely burned out but didnt go on to say it was my fault, otherwise Id be paying for it I suppose. Last time I spoke with him they hadnt taken the clutch apart and hadnt pulled the transmission so they didnt come to any conclusions. I just miss her .

Damn, you're gonna get lectured by SouthernBoy, haha.

A new clutch in 11k... eh, I guess that's the price you pay to kill those G35's, eh?

Did you feel the clutch gradually going, or did it go out suddenly??

It was against a Mustang GT which I burned, on his birthday mind you. But what happened was my clutch was holding out damn strong through until that fated moment, lol. And so he turns to me and goes Im getting no traction, my rears are spinning, turn your VSA off and see how you do. So me, being the idiot that I am listened. We went off a light and my shit spun till 6 thousand RPMS, and I shifted into second. It spun till 5 thousand and I just stopped then realizing that this isnt normal. At that point my clutch was going all the way down to the floor with a breath of air. I went home and it tightened up by morning but it let off that hideous smell of bendex. I called Acura the next morning, and I scheduled the appointment. So I brought it in and they told me and my friend that 'Our techs drove your car, theres nothing wrong it must just be the way youre positioning your seat.' So Im driving home 2 days later and my clutch burned and was smoking from the hood. Roadside assistance and a waste of Friday to the rescue!

The service rep said that the ordering and recieving of the clutch was what would consume the majority of the time, but then again installing that thing isnt that much fun as well. No mileage limit on loaner cars

Odd. usually burning a clutch once doesnt destroy it. You'll glaze it sure, but that generally wears off in a couple hundred miles of gentle use.

I know if I burned a clutch out of a car I wouldn't be on the internet telling everyone how I did it. I would at least wait untill it was fixed. You never know who reads these forums.

ahh you didnt' tell me you were racing...better hope no one @ your dealership reads this hahah. Btw, which dealership did you bring this too? Open Road? If so, imma bring mine in so that they could fix my tranny. It feels so notchy. They didn't do anything about it last time. I'm going to see if they'll swap out OEM to the GM Syncromesh for me.
