Wiper Upgrade
Hey Everybody. Has anyone upgraded their 3G stock wipers to anything better? I noticed a few threads from about 2-4 years ago that mention PIAA wipers. Are these any good?
What have you upgraded to or what would you recommend?
Thanks!

Full of water...
i am using PIAA silicons and they work great...but only after a little break in time. They streak at first, and i think it is actually the silicon coming off the blade, but once it rains a little they really work great. There is really no need to rain-x after you install these. The water just sheets off by itself. I have the newer more expensive model on the driver side, the one that is a single unit and is kinda springy(forza hybrid), but they didnt have that same model for the passenger side so i just have the standard looking setup for that side(super silicone w/spoiler).
i have also had a set of Valeos, but the end cap broke off and the exposed metal left an arched scrape across my window

Bosch Icon's FTW, I've had them on my TL and MDX for nearly a year, still wipes perfectly with the florida downpours!

Hey Guys! Wow... Thanks for all the thoughtful replies!
blkaspec and dwb993, thanks for the insight and URLs into the specific PIAAs*.
And sixsixfour and Baxton, the Rain X Latitudes sound very interesting. I'll look into those as well.
As I anticipated, my OEMs are starting to wear. Been a rainy Spring and even though we had a bit of a warm Winter down here in NYC, I go to the Catskill mountains a lot and there's always snow. I started noticing streaking with the snow, but its continued somewhat, though not as heavily, with rain. Now it's time for a change...
*I'm also a motorcyclist and PIAA driving lights are some of the best farkles (blu-duh BMW word for mods) you can add to your bike.

The Rain X Latitudes and Michelin Radius blades are very similar. The Michelin's however are a few bucks cheaper. I've had them on almost a week, only thing is the passenger side end (like the last .5") doesn't fully touch the windshield, so hopefully it will shape to the windshield in some time, just probably needs to sit in the sun for a bit.

you can get the Rain-Xs for cheap at walmart. and these are the latitudes (similar to the Bosch ICONs) with the single continuous blade design. totally worth it.

I just recently upgraded to the PIAA super sporza silicon, and they are by far the best wipers I've ever used. I got the carbon fiber ones to add a little aesthetics.

Remember guys.. FORZA and SPORZA are different... LoL. SPORZA has a spoiler on it for downforce.
These wipers are just as good with wiping as the BOSCH ICONS.. but the fact that it applies water repellant (rain-x) on your windshield with every swipe is what sets it apart light years ahead of any other wiper. I was so happy I had that 2 days ago when it was raining cats dogs 2 days ago! I barely had my wipers on the 2nd speed.. LOL... water was just sleeting away.

Sorry for the confusion.. what I'm saying is the PIAA's apply water repellant material on your glass. RAIN-X Lattitudes, or Bosh ICONS do not do this, this is what makes PIAA's light years ahead of them. The water repellant they apply on the windshield is similar to the RAIN-X you get in a bottle and have to apply by hand, but the PIAA's do with every swipe all by themselves.
Hope that clears that up. I laid out all the info throughly in that thread that I posted in my first post which ironically is the same thread that Bobby2 posted up... LoL

Bosch only wipes and it wipes clean ..... better than OEM for sure.
PIAA not only wipes clean just as good as Bosch and better than OEM but coats your windshield with water repellant material like RAIN-X with every swipe. With this coating, using wipers at highway speeds becomes unneccessary as most of the water sleets right off.
That about sums it up. Decision should also be easy.
