Wing for TL?

Hi all, I just put my deposit in for an '05 TL (auto w/ navi) - price before TTL $33,400. I was considering adding the wing but wasn't sure whether to get OEM off eBay or just have the dealer install it.

If I do end up getting something off eBay, should I take it to the dealer to get it installed? Either that or if any of you could recommend a place to install it near Chicago, IL.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I would say get it from the dealer. That way it falls under their warranty. If you get it any place else and something goes bad on it or breaks, Im not sure what would hold up.

Dealer wanted to charge me $499 installed for the deck lid spoiler...I bought the OEM for $340 shipped and installed for $20. Even with drilling, its an easy install

This is what I did, I bought an OEM Wing spoiler off the internet, and took my spoiler to Muller's Woodfield Acura in Schaumburg... the wing is OEM and the dealer installs it, so they fully warranty it

McGrath wants $649 for the wing installed.

I can get it prepainted from eBay for $180-190 shipped. The only issue is to find a reputable installer (preferrably dealer).

So how much would it cost to install?

A small shop near me did it....stop by any decent paint/body place and see if they will do it for you. The install took less than 20 minutes, so it shouldn't cost much.

Frankly, if you have a good drill and the proper bit, the OEM wing comes with a template that allows you to position the holes perfectly. Its all quite easy.

The reason why I got mine at the dealer is becuase when I bought the car he sold it to me at cost. and $30 to put it on. He showed me the cost and what dealer mark up was. It was double. When or before you get the car ask him to throw it in at cost.

Those of you that bought the OEM wing spoiler, where is the best price for this accessory. (any web links) Also, does the wing spolier come with a brake light?

wing spoiler doesn't come with a brake light. Those are usually for cars where the spoiler blocks the standard light. since the TL's is at the top of the rear window, it isn't blocked.
