Wing Spoiler

Anyone thinking of getting a wing spoiler for your TL. I wonder if it would look weird on a TL.

One more question...is there any spoilers that do not require bolting or drilling into the trunk?

Wut's the brand for da spoiler on the endurance race TL.

I'm pretty sure the "lip" type spoiler(s) does not need any drilling... They add some lines without being too involved... 3M makes some KILLER 2 sided adhesive foam tape (that I use in designs here at work)

As for the endurance TL... No clue what brand.

But keep in mind that RICE is best served at a restaurant...

Wing...

Some people like them, some people don't. It's really more an issue of do you like it, since it's your ride.

I put an Acura wing on mine and I think it looks fine, adds a little something to car and helps me judge where the back end is when I'm backing up.

I installed it myself and it wasn't hard to do except for replacing the bloody torsion bars. That requires some muscle and it's tough to get good leverage on the springs. Definitely wear a pair of heavy gloves when replacing the springs - trust me!

If you decide to DIY it and get the factory wing, I'd recommend buying from HandA Accessories. Good folks, good prices, good customer service and they sell the tool you need to replace the factory torsion bars with the ones that come with the wing.

Not intended as a flame, but I must say, I've never understood the point of a rear spoiler on a front-wheel-drive vehicle.

Only the lip spoiler maintains the classy look. Anything else is either camry-esque or rice.

One is style... and, 2, in at least the 2004-2005 Acura TL, performs function, in addition to the underbody aero parts. The TL that was posted in the first post of this thread, the team that made that vehicle, actually had the car wind tunnel tested and proved the aero parts serve a purpose.

wing

I think the Acura wing is very understated compared to most and looks great!
Adds something to the rear body lines.

I was going to go with the wing until I saw it in person, right now I'm stock, if I was going to go with anything it would be the lip .. understated and just a bit classy. IMHO

Definitely a personal preference thing. You decide if you like the look or not.

I have the wing. Love the look. However, it does block my view out the rear window a little bit. (con) BUT it blocks the headlights of cars behind me at night (pro).

Ya, but what use do ANY spoilers do on street legal vehicles?. They serve the same purpose as customized grills, skirt & lip packages.... purely cosmetic.

I like the deck lid, it gives the rear end a better view. Everyone has different views on them. If you like it than do it, if not than don't.

I like the deck lid spoiler better myself.
Either one you have to drill holes in your trunk lid.

I love the deck lip spoiler in pictures, but I don't really feel it in person. I can't really explain it. I'm getting my Acura wing spoiler put on Monday.

Lip spoiler requires two holes that need to be drilled.

If you have the A-spec kit the lip spoiler looks better. If you have no intention of going with the A-spec, the wing looks good.

I was thinking the exact same thing.
