Windshield wiper controls

Does anyone else think the windshield wipers are more difficult to use than they should be?

It's been a more difficult transition than I thought it would be. If I want intermittent wipers, I often push it one click too far and get the regular speed wipers, then I have to push up and if it's too hard, I get the single fast wipe. I preferred the rotary control of the previous TL as it was easier to use.

I admit it took some getting used to but I was able to adjust in time. I still get confused sometimes as to what position the level is in though.

It was a cakewalk compared to understanding how to get all the voice commans to work.

Yeah, you'll get no argument from me about that. The phone commands were easy. It's the nav commands I'm having a difficult time with.

Don't forget about the speed variable setting in the intermittent mode when you have the winsheild wipers on the fastest intermittent speed.

I think that is pretty nice.

It's an adjustment for me too! All my previous hondas have been rotary control. The long beams are different too. Push forward instead of pull back! I believe these are the european controls of the TSX. Convergence is the name of the game one supplier, less cost. They do work like silk though.

I have a life, thank you, probably much better than yours. I have done nothing to provoke you, and there is absolutely no call for your rudeness. If you can't write productive posts, please go away.

I've seen your complaints about nitpicking comments about the new TL. We are all essentially beta-testers who bought early. That's why you see so many nitpicking comments. It's not that we don't like the car. In fact, I love my car and can't wait to drive it every morning. Our comments will make a super car even better next year, as I'm positive Acura monitors these groups. An Acura engineer even stopped by last month to ask about the quality of some interior parts, so I know they're lurking. I remember when I bought my 2002 TL--it was touted as having over 200 changes compared to the 2001, from styling changes to improved wind noise over the side mirrors. This shows Acura's attention to detail and customers' comments, and is why I will continue to be an Acura customer.

"get a life" is just an expression. I'm sure you have a great life, and so do I. There's no need to jump to personal attacks.

I get enough negativity on the evening news, Bob. If you write something on these threads that seem to go to far, nitpicking or whatever you want to call it, I may feel like commenting on the issue in question. Sorry that you don't want to be critiqued. I think you're just being too critical, and then too sensitive about my remarks, but I'll try to censor myself a bit more if I have offended. This website has tons of great things going for it, and then there's the aspect that really does little more than allow people to feel like they have a forum to complain.

That's the sign of a great car when the only thing someone can find to complain about is that they don't like the windshield wiper control.
