Window vibration with stereo - anyone else?
Window vibration with stereo - anyone else?
Is this just me?
When I have the windows closed, and the volume way up (stock, no mods, levels all in the center, except the treble at like 85% up), I get a vibration of the window right at my left ear. The pitch it vibrates at is really annoying - kind of like a ringing in my ear (please hold back your comments about my ears ringing from excessive volume, etc). If I hold my hand against the glass, it's gone.
I think it happens on the pass side too.
Interesting, it's worse when I switch over to AM for the traffic report.
Can the window "shaft" in the door (I have no idea what you call the area that the window retracts into) be "felted" like the dealer has done for other vibrations?
Thanks!!

I have a bit of a vibrating noise in the same area whenever the radio hits a bit of bass or if I go over rough spots in the road. I noticed that it actually comes from the seatbelt adjuster assembly. Could that be the same for you, or is it actually the window for sure?
O.K., so this window vibration thing is getting worse.
Just like the door panel vibrates with the stereo up, my window is doing the same, and I feel it is getting progressively worse.
Before you flame, I understand the reasoning here - high speaker volume = vibration in nearby areas.
It's just that I wonder if there is some way to better "insulate" the window (maybe that felt stuff you guys are putting everywhere?).
And please spare me the replies about turning down the volume, going deaf, etc. Not so clever anymore.
