Window Tinting in NC?

Has anyone had their TL tinted in the Charlotte or Raleigh area? If you could let me know how much you paid.

Do a search, I think you will find tons of posts on it.
I think around $200 for metallic or combination tints...
$300 - $400 for ceramic tints...

again I am quoting you what myself and a few other people on the forum have been quoted by 3 (4 tint shops) in the triangle area....

There are people who have paid 1/2 the amount in other regions...

hope this helps.

Lightning Mike's

Llumar 20% the first time ($250). Llumar 35% (Legal) the second time (another $175). Done within 2 days of each other because wife could not see out the side windows with that deep a tint. He did a good job but did not use the moleskin so now (after nearly 2 years, I am getting some light scratches). I'm sure he would probably redo it if I asked even two years later but...

You may also be interested in the clearbra protection that is so popular with the more expensive cars now adays. A buddy of mine is a partner with armadillo here in Charlotte. IM me if you want his contact info.

I know a couple of other people that recommend Lightning Mike...he did a good edge to edge job on my friend's old Mustang.

ndabunka - you put 35% on the TL? That would put it at about 26-27%% with the factory tint...leeway on passing is supposed to be 32%...am I missing something?

Sun Protection over in Cary quoted me $245 (I'm also a returning customer).

I didn't ask any details regarding the type of tint, but I believe they use Formula One.

My 2 roommates and I are going to try to find someone that will give us a discount if we all 3 get ours done at the same time.

ok I finally went to formula one in cary. The guy quoted me around $340 for the F1 Ultimate 38 series and $309 for the Premier 35. Do you think that is reasonable? He said he would install moleskins for a like $70/ door which is completely out of the question. I'll do them myself.

He also said that this was unwarranted against scratches.

DUDE that is HIGH...get it done at Sun Protection in Cary...very nice people they even said that if you get scratches they will replace it one time for me (then I would have to put the moleskin) Their workmanship was top notch...

they have a 20% coupon running in the Family Savings magazine of this month...I got mine done a couple of months back when also they were running the same promotion (actually the lady at the front desk gave me the coupon for 20% discount) I paid $197 with everything for Premier F1...they have the best customer service...she quoted me around $250 (with discount) for Ultimate but since Ultimate is all Metallic I opted for the premier which is part metallic and part dye (due to Navi)

If you cant get your hands on the 20% coupon PM me and I will give you the one I have..I live 2 minutes away from Sun Protection shop.

make a hr and 15mins drive to Greenville and go the Mobile Millenia. I got my TL done w/ 26-27%, lifetime warranty, and he covered everything in felt that he thought may scratch the tint for $185...

he even did the strip on the little window on the rear door that a lot of people don't do.
