Window Tinting

I want to tint my back Acura, but I cant decide whether to go all around with 35% (since that the MA limit). Will it look better all around with 35% or just 35% in the three rear windows and 40% in the driver and passenger windows in the front? Please give me some opinions? A;so where will be the best place to tint your car in MA in the ESSEEX County? Thank you!!

Go as dark as you are allowed (or dare to) all around.

35% all around is pretty nice.

If you haven't seen it already, do a search on "Show Your Tints". It's a thread in the Photo Gallery where many members show various kinds and % of tint.

All around is better IMHO ... two diff. tints might take a while to get used to ... I wanted the darker % on the back windows, so I went with that ...

I agree, 35% all around should be nice enough.

Will putting a 35% tint to the current stock windows add more percentage overall or will that not matter?

I always suggest go a shade darker on the Rear Windshield. For me, the best pattern for a car with black interior is 20% on the rear windshield and 35% on all the other windows. People are worried that you'll be able to tell the shade difference, but you can not tell at all and it make the car appear to have a nice even blend of tint.

If you have the beige interior, I would do 20% all around without doing the shade difference in the rear because the only lower shade than 20% is 15% and 15% might be a bit too dark.

It depends on what state you live in.

Windshield- Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 6 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows - Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Back Side Windows - Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Rear Window - Any darkness can be used.

darkest you can get in FL is 35% front and 20% in the back and that's what i got. i am really happy with it. I do highly recommend you to get Llumar tint. they are the best.

In NYC, anything darker than "Saran-wrap" is illegal - I think the official # is 70% for legal tint, which is not worth doing. I think 35% is too light, but 20% is a bit too dark for some and can pull unwanted attention to the car, especially if the car is a dark color. I personally did 20% all around on my 3G, and I love it, but it is a bit troublesome in some situations.

You are just like me. You would love the 20% / 35% idea I suggested above. It will give an overall appearance of being darker than 35% but lighter than 20%. Just right in the middle.

Tint laws

I just got my black TL, with parchement, done a few weeks ago, 20% all the way around. Looks great.

AND- if you do get tint, dont forget about the moleskin or the windows will get scratched.

35% all around. I don't see how people do it with 20% at the back. How can one see out the back at night?

I have 5% in the back

Why do you need to see out the back of your car at night? To get blinded by headlights?

So you don't hit stuff. I personally could never do the under 20%. When it's dark it looks like pitch black at night lol.

you guys are funny....but as far as tints i have yet to get them.....straight fish bowling it! haha....maybe when spring hits....i just hate giving cops a reason to pull me over...when I had my 00' accrd coupe, they use to pull me over at the end of every month. Besides giving me tickets, they would search my car because half the time i smelled like "Bob Marley".....lol... but they never find anything! Bastards

I would go darker in the back 3 windows and then go 35% in the front. 35% all around is nice though.

I got Diamond brilliant tint. When I went to get it done they had 3 types of diamonds tint, 1 was the really shiny, then there was my with the smoked look and the other was a solid black, i think I payed a little it over 300 with the moleskin included, some of my friends think I payed to much but I really dont know, When I bougth my car the dealer told me about that place so I went I got it there. About if you can get something with more smoked in I don't know you'll probably have to look around .

Make sure you get something that is ceramic or metalic. The formula one pinnacle is a popular choice. I put this on my wifes MDX very nice. If you really want to go with the best huber optiks (but super expensive). If I was you I would go with llumar. Their films have the best black color to them and you should be able to get entire car for under 200

Dyed films fade and or get purple and have usually like 3 year warranty not a lifetime one.

I have all metal film (llumar) , 15% sides and sunroof, 30% windshield, 5% rear window.

I have no problem with nav or phone signals
