Window tint

I just got a 2005 Tl and i was calling around to get prices for window tint and this one place told me that if i get them tinted then something behind the door panels would scratch my tint. Has anyone ever heard of this?

yes. Thats why you tell them to put in mole skin I believe its called. Its a strip of soft like material that prevents plastic from scratching your tint. Maybe someone else can give you more details

Yes, you want to get the Moleskin. It's a felt strip that is installed on the rubber that slides against your windows glass. It's tight and if dirty WILL scratch your tint. Some detailers will install it and others don't have it. You can order it and stall it yourself. It's recommended you install it right AFTER your tint is installed.

Mdlarkins; Sound Sensations on 41 has always been a good choice although a little over priced. I have had 3 cars done by the guy at Gotcha Lookin Good in Dallas/Hiram and have been very pleased. He just recently moved across the street from his old building to a much smaller (crappier) facility which leads me to believe he might be hurting. But definitely check it out!!! He did my Prelude, GMC Sierra, Civic and TL. Knows his stuff

This is important. Otherwise, the moleskin gets a little messed up during the tintin process and you can run into some glue streaking issues.

Have to have my windows redone (after I get the current tint removed and the car signed off on for a ticket ) so I'm hoping I don't have to redo the moleskin after the new tint. Just going to have to see how it turns out.
